Beginning the End of Tobago

We had two more fun days with our friends. We took a glass bottom boat tour which included some snorkeling. Something was going on in the Sea cause the waves were monstrous and it was difficult to snorkel much. It still was a good time though. The next day, we tried to snorkel again but the water was still too rough to venture out. So, we went to King George Fort and played games. The gang left early Wednesday morning. It was so great to spend this time with them! We are so grateful they were able to come and enjoy Tobago with us.

We left Wednesday afternoon for Trinidad to get a new apartment opened up for the missionaries in Chaguanaus, an area just 30 minutes or so South of Port of Spain. It was pretty much furnished except for the beds and a few kitchen items. It did need to be cleaned though so I did that while Dave set up the beds and the water filter system. Hopefully the Elders will have much success in this new area. We needed to get a new phone and Dave had to work with our car guy about selling some of the fleet so that took us until Friday evening to get everything done. Sister Ray and Sister Locke had invited us over for a roti dinner on Friday night with the Ramdanie family and the missionaries. The Ramdanie family made all the fixins and it was incredibly delicious! It is always so wonderful to spend time with the Elders as well. We said our final goodbyes to many of them as we wouldn't be seeing them again until they come to Bountiful to visit us after they finish their missions.
We flew back to Tobago Saturday morning. It's weird to start checking off  "last times" with things. We realized that was our last flight to and from Tobago to Trinidad.

This is our cute cook/server Sandra. We always stay at this bed and breakfast when we go to Trinidad and she always give us a delicious breakfast and a great smile! She found out our kids were coming to visit us and she made roti for us to take home and share with them when they come!
The group waiting for the steel pans to begin....this didn't get included in last weeks post.

Ramdanie family with their yummy roti and fixins.
There is curry potato, bodi (which is like green beans) pumpkin, stewed tomatoes, chicken and beef. It may not sound like it's so yummy but the spices they put in are amazing.
Sister Ramdanie used to have a roti shop for years but stopped because it is a lot of hard work.
Brother Ramdanie is our taxi driver.
 Elders enjoying a yummy meal

We have grown to love these young men very much!

Stuffing our selves to the gills....honestly, it's hard to stop eating it's so yummy!

Tender Mercies

This will be the last tale I will be recording of our Trinidad Port of Spain Mission. I will begin with the 34 hour travel time to get back ...
