Interesting culture

Not much new things to write about, just kind of getting into a schedule of sorts. We were able to go out on visits with the YSA leader Andy Anderson yesterday after church. It was great to be able to visit these wonderful young men and women and find out where they live. It is impossible for us to locate members without a guide. I know nothing is impossible with the Lord so in this case it is possible if we have someone with us until we can pin them on the phone, although, the places we went to yesterday will even be hard to find again with a pin. The roads are not clearly defined in many areas. Anyway, we did get to visit with Philipa, Oemika, Phil, Martina, and Manouska.
The plan is to enlist these stronger, core people to reach out and minister to all the others as well as to each other. We need to build a feeling of a strong connection. We will be having an activity every other Friday to hopefully establish this. We are grateful for Andy. He is 25 years old, unmarried and was the past branch President for this Linden branch.
This has been a bad week for water. Since Friday we have only had water for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the early evening. This is an great enticement to be grumpy, so I am working on my patience and being pleasant in long suffering. Luckily, Sunday I was able to shower for church but Dave missed the window.
Now some pictures!

Here is a huge beetle we found just outside the door of our apartment

 Self explanatory

This is the road going into the area, subdivision, where we live.
Most of the roads are in this condition or worse.
Beautiful moth outside our door. It's as big as my hand.
Some of the children that come to church. We were out visiting their mother who teaches seminary. They think our hair is amazing. One of the children was pulling on my hair to see if it was a wig.
They are so cuddlely and loving!
This gorgeous thing is the bud of the country's flower. The victorious Lily. Amazing!
This is how they grow along side the roads

 Cool trees

These steps go up to our seminary student, Shaneeza's home. Very steep!

 The view from her home
The dense area around her home
This is the size of roaches that come to church!

Tender Mercies

This will be the last tale I will be recording of our Trinidad Port of Spain Mission. I will begin with the 34 hour travel time to get back ...
